Want to learn self-defense and martial arts skills without ever having to leave the safety of home? PVMAA is now answering the needs of Ponte Vedra families with options for distance learning, home-school training and virtual platform access throughout Northern St. Johns County or wherever you call home Here are a few of those opportunities:
Home-School Advantage – Research shows that children need 60 minutes of physical activity per day. Certified martial arts training at Ponte Vedra Martial Arts Academy offers a great way to accomplish this goal -- and to feel a genuine sense of accomplishment at the same time. Using our hybrid web-based and in-person training platform, school-aged children learn martial arts on their own, with validation, verification, and support from PVMAA’s certified staff. Our on-line curriculum is set up so children can learn and practice at their convenience, and then once a week, during the day, they meet with our instructors to have questions answered, to receive feedback, and to review and evaluate their progress. Home-schoolers wishing to enjoy additional practice time in the Academy facilities can take advantage of that option by scheduling time through the academy.
Home “Dojang” – Our entire curriculum is online, and students can train, review, and promote through on-line webinars, without ever having to set foot in the Academy. Essentially, the student’s “dojang” (formal Tang Soo Do training center) is wherever the student happens to be! This program integrates fully into our in-person Essential Martial Arts Program, so students wishing to transition into live classes can do so with relative ease. This can be a great option for families who are remote, living in isolation, or home-schooling their children. Since it is self-paced, students progress at their own rate and can commit as much (or as little) time as they wish. Have a busy week … or a slow period at school or the office … simply plan your time accordingly. No stress, no worries, all good!
The Web Lab – Our virtual martial arts lab is accessible to home-schoolers and MAP program participants. It incorporates the fastest-available internet connections to simultaneously support multiple devices. Students can study from a variety of on-line platforms on a “Gig Speed” network. Access to the Academy’s printers and scanners is included; simply stop by to access this hardware at your convenience. While waiting for class to start or in-between sessions at the Academy.
“Virtual Warriors” – A hybrid platform where students train and practice at home, then attend one class at the Academy each week to learn and practice sparring techniques. This program is intended for self-starter students of any age who cannot commit to training multiple times a week and prefer instead to practice and train in the comforts of home. Students in this program are looking to earn their Black Belts in Tang Soo Do, without the time commitment of training on the floor.
